about

Just prior to the events of the TROT episode called "Hands," Regina informed Tyler that she had come up with an alternate version of The Amends' song "Hey Regina," which was originally recorded for our debut album. This is her version of the night described in the original song. Tyler had his guitar and an iPhone recorder. He began recording and playing, and she began singing. This is that recording--from just outside La Mesa in Montezuma.

lyrics

Since I let you use me, I’m gonna use you too
I’m in a crude kind of mood, and your view is skewed
By the tunes you induce, from the shrews you seduce
I had to make do with half truths you produce

And your bottles of booze, the pills that you chew
Your dumb hipster shoes and your lies I see through
That long trail of clues will lead to nothing new
I’m more shrewd than you, I can see through your ruse

I’ll tell you what I went through
if it’s the last thing I do
I would have been your muse for a few
if you ever stopped singing the blues

Hey you cheater, I should’ve never come see you that night
The door swung open cause the hinges were broken
Cause you never could shut it quite right

Hey you cheater, you should’ve never come see me that night
I know you were hoping, this would stay unspoken
But that doesn’t seem quite right

And your body felt... alright
